About Me

Hi! Thanks for taking the time to have a look around my blog!

It started as a place to document my journey through 2012 as I ran 12 marathons to raise many for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, but has since then evolved into a place to keep a a log of my training and races in general.

In 2012 I undertook a challenge largely based around distance, having only previously undertaken shorter races (half marathon and below) as a member of Westbourne Running Club based in Bournemouth, Dorset. The challenge itself was a truly awesome experience and it took me a lot about running in general, my limitations and how to push through barriers (both physical and mental).

In 2013 I am turning my attention to triathlons as a new challenge. Primarily I will be looking at the shorter sprint distances having booked Blenheim and Bristol in early and mid June, and I have booked a longer Olympic distance (London) which takes place in late July.

I am new to both swimming and biking so hopefully I will be able to make solid progress with the help of my triathlon club, Cardiff Tri, as the year progresses.

Outside of my sporting life, I am a paralegal at Lyons Davidson Solicitors in Cardiff working within Insurance Litigation and am studying at Cardiff University part time for my Legal Practice qualification.

I enjoying reading and films when I get some down time. I am particularly interested in how the mind works, from memory (storage/retrieval) and the psychology of decision making to what causes people to do the things they do in the way they do them.

Ideally my long term goal is to get involved in sport within the community to aid in charity or volunteer work and would some day like to be on my way to being qualified as a British triathlon federation qualified trainer.
