Managed to find a pretty decent website that has a nice walk through bike for cleaning up a bike which can be found << here >> and so i'll be picking up these bits tomorrow.
I managed to nip to the local market today at lunch and picked up a brush/steel toothbursh/stiff brush set for a modest £2.50 so hopefully these will come in handy.
I had a play around with the bike this evening when I got home and there was still some light left to see what the damage was.
The rear quick release for the wheel was frozen so I have managed to get that off with a pair of pliers and luckily the front set were pretty ok.
I'll pick up some car washing liquid, some degreaser and lube from tesco on my way back from swimming tonight and I have an abundance of old race t-shirts that will suffice for a wipe down cloth.
I figure whilst I am doing a bit of bike DIY, i'll take a look at my racing bike as well and give it a good clean and take care of the chain.
There is a about polish, so depending on the price I may well pick some of that up as well.
